Sâkihito-maskihkiy means ”love medicine” in Nehiyawewin or Plains Cree. I mainly make beaded earrings, brooches, pins, key chains, and necklaces. My jewelry is made with different materials from my culture, such as, moose hide, deer hide, dentalium shells, caribou antler, porcupine quills, and a lot more. I like to incorporate alternative styles into my beadwork to represent my generation of indigenous alternative youth. Sakihito.maskihkiy has a huge emphasis on queer representation, as being queer is an important an honorable part of my identity. My hope is that other queer, and/or bipoc people feel seen and loved by my jewelry.
